Key Websites
Let’s face it, with the ease of use offered
by today’s graphical hyper-text editors a
user with moderate skills can create a nice
looking site which accomplishes most of the
goals set forth in their wed project. Stock
graphics abound for little or no cost and
are easily found via the major search
engines. There are dozens outstanding
websites on the net which were designed in
house by department staff.
|
Having said this let’s take a quick look at
the possible draw backs of in-house web
projects. |
|
 |
|
|
People leave, move, or loose
interest leaving the project in
limbo. |
|
 |
|
|
If you don’t already own html
editing software purchasing it
can cost as much as a
professionally designed website
by our firm. |
|
 |
|
|
Security will most likely be an
issue, the probability of your
website getting hacked or
compromised is much higher, and
in some cases it’s a certainty. |
|
 |
|
|
Should you wish to add more
sophisticated applications you
will likely have to out-source
it.
This can get expensive
particularly if the site was not
set-up to accommodate certain
scripting languages. |
|
 |
|
|
Most departments will form a
committee to handle their web
project. Sometimes personalities
don’t mesh and the project is
never completed do to
disagreements on minor details.
This would virtually disappear
when using our services. These
smaller details would not be
handled by us and seldom seen by
you. |

in the design process. We ask

your authorization we start
designing your website.
|
 |
|
Step 5 |
During the design process and
resources needed from your
department would be worked out.

to send to us and when? These
are a few examples of the
details which may have to be
worked out. |
