Cumberland County Engine 42

Engine 42 is a 1987 Sutphen Custom Pumper.  It consists of a 1000 gallon water tank, 100 gallon Class B foam tank and a 12 gallon Class A foam tank.  The engine has a rated   1750 gpm pump with the capability of flowing 2130 gpm.  This engine is very versatile unit.  It can be an aggressive attack engine, a big water supply piece or a foam firefighting piece of apparatus.  When the Class B foam system is in use, the engine becomes a 1500 gpm foam pumper.

4—200 ft. 2 in. crosslays

1—150 ft. 2 in. preconnect (Class B foam line)

2—300 ft. 2 in. preconnects

1—100 ft. 1.75 in. trash line

1—50 ft. 1 in. trash line

1—200 ft. 2.5 in. preconnect

1—150 ft. 3 in. preconnect (blitz gun line)

 

Dead loads:

400 ft. of 3 in. hose

1525 ft. of 5 in. supply hose

2-25 ft. short sections of 5 in.

1-50 ft. short section of 5 in.

Hose bag with 2-100 ft. preconnects of 1.75 in.

Foam Systems:

Class A:

·      Two of the crosslays are piped for Class A foam.  These two lines have TFT duel pressure breakaway nozzles. 

·      Mop up kit—4-50 ft. sections of 1 in. hose that can be attached to the breakaway nozzles for over haul purposes.  The 1 in. lines have bubble cup nozzles.

·      Inventory on station—55 gallons

 

Class B:

·        1—95 gpm by-pass enductor

·        2—250 gpm enductors

·        1—foam midget to make all of the pump foam capable of flowing 1500 gpm at 3% or 750 gpm at 6% foam solution through all discharges.

·      Various types of aerated nozzles and foam blanket shapers

·      Inventory on station—75 gallons of AFFF/ATC 3%-6%

425 gallons of protein foam
