Engine 42 is a 1987 Sutphen Custom Pumper. It
consists of a 1000 gallon water tank, 100 gallon Class B foam tank and a 12
gallon Class A foam tank. The engine has a rated 1750 gpm pump with the
capability of flowing 2130 gpm. This engine is very versatile unit. It can
be an aggressive attack engine, a big water supply piece or a foam
firefighting piece of apparatus. When the Class B foam system is in use,
the engine becomes a 1500 gpm foam pumper. |

Foam Systems:
Class A:
· Two
of the crosslays are piped for Class A foam. These two lines have TFT duel
pressure breakaway nozzles.
· Mop
up kit—4-50 ft. sections of 1 in. hose that can be attached to the breakaway
nozzles for over haul purposes. The 1 in. lines have bubble cup nozzles.
